The Federation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Stakeholders (FEDMAPS) is an autonomous body to promote the sector. It is involved in advocacy and also dedicated to updating its stakeholders with national and international regulatory, research government policies and schemes, conservation measures and markets. It promotes knowledge among its members by conducting training and to keeping them informed on global trends affecting the sector.
FEDMAPS works with agencies concerned to ease regulatory provisions affecting the smooth flow of commerce within the sector. FEDMAPS also motivates the stakeholders to update themselves with current scenario of MAPs and build up coordination between government agencies, producers of herbs and their allied products, collectors, cultivators, traders and research organizations for advancement of the sector. FEDMAPS also focuses on developing basic infrastructure for cultivators, creating a database of MAPs availability, demand and supply of various products, upgrading standards of MAPs trade, sustainable collection of minor forest produce and promotion of conservation & bio-diversity amongst stakeholders. It promotes Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) and related cooperation between members and government agencies to usher in a regime of reform and progress keeping the sector tuned to global expectations.
